Please Join our community on Saturday, May 21st, 2016 as we celebrate the opening of the North Bay Farmers’ Market 14th season, together with numerous community leaders and market supporters. The festivities will be held 8:30am – 1pm at Parking Lot 10 on Oak and Wyld Street by the North Bay Transit Terminal. The North Bay Farmers’ Market would like to welcome Mayor Al McDonald and several more area officials who promote our twice weekly market of fresh, local food and quality goods. Mayor Al McDonald will say a few words at the start of the opening ceremony at 8:30 am.

New and exciting changes are happening at the North Bay Farmers’ Market this year. Along with several new special events and vendors, we are also pleased to introduce and welcome a new 2016 Board of Directors and Market Manager. The Market is also kicking off this season with an updated brand, logo and website (coming soon) to better reflect our highly successful, well-established and well-regarded Market community. Our Market has served as an incubator for hundreds of small businesses over the years. We are a venue for socializing where urban residents meet local farmers, producers, crafters, musicians, entertainers, community not-for-profits and their neighbours. We help to revitalize our downtown district with great shopping, special events, local food, education, nutrition and economic security. At the base of all our efforts is a commitment to freshness, quality, local business and community. We have also partnered with the Downtown Improvement Area and the Capitol Centre to initiate a promotional campaign supporting downtown business with a ‘Love Local’ reusable tote bag.

This season we are very excited to introduce the $5 Market Buck which will be used as prizes and giveaways for online contests and at our special events throughout the season. $5 Market Bucks are available for purchase at the market location from the Market Manager, Lisa Gibson-Nickle. This season will also feature several ‘Friends of the Market’ Tote Bag contests and prizes. The ‘Friends of the Market’ tote bag will be filled with a wide variety of Market promotions, gifts and vouchers including a fridge magnet, button, coupons, $5 Market Buck, gift certicates and much more – valued at over $80. The ‘Friends of the Market’ reusable tote bags will be also be available for purchase at an amazing price of $20 or, you can purchase a regular “Love Local” tote bag for $2. A variety of fun Market buttons will also be available for sale this season at $2 each.
